Red, White, and Nukes
A piece that satirizes jingoism and the widespread acceptance of America’s flawed foreign policy agenda. Based more in red and orange tones, the painting mimics the propaganda posters of the Cold War; it is based on the idea that the archetype of a typical American citizen has changed; as a smiling girl, it also speaks to a lack of change between past decades and the current in terms of foreign policy and nuclear proliferation.
